FAQs

Q: Do you have a warranty or guarantee?

A: Yes we have both! As long as you use your Force of Nature according to our instructions, it’s covered by a limited one year warranty. We also have a 100% Happiness Guarantee, which means that if you’re not completely satisfied with your Force of Nature Starter Kit or Bundle, you can return it to us within 30 days for a full refund minus the return shipping cost.

Q: Does Force of Nature have a scent?

A:  Force of Nature has no added fragrances, so it’s perfect for families struggling with asthma and allergies. It has a light swimming pool scent that’s naturally created when salt, water & vinegar are electrolyzed. The scent is from the active ingredient, hypochlorous acid, which is the same active ingredient commonly used in wound, eye & veterinary care products.

Q: Why does the cleaner only last 2 weeks?

A: Just like bubbles in a carbonated drink, hypochlorous acid starts to dissipate over time. To be sure Force of Nature is at its optimal power, you should use it within 2 weeks. The bottle is 12 oz, vs a typical cleaner which is around 26-32 oz. Most families use about a bottle a week when they use it for all their cleaning & deodorizing needs (replacing kitchen, bath, glass cleaners & deodorizers). Families who also use it on floors & rugs use even more. The light ring around the bottom of the Electrolyzer is color coded to let you know when it’s time to make a new batch.

Q: Has Force of Nature been tested in 3rd party labs?

A: Yes Force of Nature has been evaluated by 3rd party independent labs for cleaning performance, ingredient safety, and environmental impact. Cleaning performance lab test results vs the leading brands are here. You’ll see that Force of Nature is just as effective as Windex on glass, Formula 409 on grease, Scrubbing Bubbles on soap scum, Febreze on odors, and Resolve on rugs. Force of Nature has also been given the highest rating by the Mayo Clinic’s SkinSAFE allergy rating system. We’re also proud to be Green Seal certified for our sustainability leadership. Green Seal certification is awarded to products that meet the highest sustainability standards in 4 areas: protecting human health, preserving the climate, ensuring clean water, and minimizing waste.

Q: Are your capsules recyclable?

A:  Absolutely! With our Capsules & reusable bottles, you reduce your plastic waste from typical cleaning products by 97%. Force of Nature is Green Seal certified, which means it meets Green Seal’s highest sustainability standards in 4 areas: preserving the climate, ensuring clean water, minimizing waste, and protecting humans.

Q: Does it work with hard water?

A:  If you have hard water (> 100ppm), please use a water softener, distilled or de-ionized water instead of tap water. This is because the minerals in hard water interfere with the chemistry, making the cleaner less effective, and can shorten the life of your Force of Nature.

Q: Can I use it to clean stone? On what other surfaces?

A: Use it to clean virtually any surface – sealed stone including granite, marble & quartz, wood, laminate, stainless steel, glass, grout, tile, porcelain, plastic, rubber & even on high chair trays & cutting boards. Deodorize trash, diaper pails, kitty litter, pet toys & bedding. Clean colorfast rugs (great for pet accidents!), stuffed animals, carseats & strollers. Always test first for color fastness in an inconspicuous spot, let dry before proceeding and don’t use on fabrics labeled “only non-chlorine bleach”. Because Force of Nature has no whiteners like bleach or titanium, it won’t remove set in rust, hard water, or mold stains on porous surfaces. With soap scum, depending on build up & surface porosity, you may need a mild abrasive like baking soda with your scrub brush the first few times. This is because soap scum builds up in layers & can require a few applications to break down. If you’re using Force of Nature on brass or copper, either rinse with water or wipe until it’s thoroughly dry because it shouldn’t sit on soft metals over time.

I like it for wiping counters, tabletops and use it in my floor spray mop but I haven’t found other uses. I can’t get soap scum or mold stains off. I have to scrub hard with a scrubby brush or sponge when I would just use a mibrofiber cloth or paper towel to just wipe clean with natural/organic cleaners, baking sofa or plain kitchen soap (7th generation). I still have to try it on glass. I’m not confident on its germ killing ability and trying to find the science and testing behind it. I did enjoy spraying it into the garbage can to deodorize, it seemed effective. I ordered a kit, refills and extra bottle. The bottle in the kit acts up and the trigger doesn’t spray easily and sometimes doesn’t spray at all, the backup bottle works great.

Hi – We contacted you right away to see if we could help you get better performance but have not heard back. We suggest these tips: Soap scum – if you have a lot of build up, it might take a few applications and an abrasive. Soap scum builds up in layers over time, so it might take an abrasive the first few times to really break it down. Glass or Stainless – Because it doesn’t have any drying accelerants in it like typical cleaners (for safety reasons), try wiping with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel until the surface is completely dry. If you are using a micro-fiber cloth, that can get streaky.
Science – Hypochlorous acid has been widely researched & used in the industrial space across multiple applications (for example in wound care, cleaning hospitals, vet care products, etc) because it’s so effective. Here are links that might help:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypochlorous_acid https://www.forceofnatureclean.com/electrolyzed-water-101/ Bottle – You said your second bottle was okay but the first was clogging. As we said in our email, we’d be happy to send you a replacement, just let us know.

  • Valerie

I love this cleaner! It’s so simple and easy to prep. And I appreciate that you don’t have to use it all up in the first two weeks and it won’t go to waste (although so far I have used it all up). I’m still working on convincing my husband that it is actually cleaning…he’s a skeptic at heart. But I’ve used it to clean everything from the bathroom and shower to the highchair and baby toys. My only complaint is that the spray bottle is just horrible. I’m going to try to replace it with something else. It leaks but most of the time I can’t even get anything to come out of it, especially when the amount of cleaner starts running low. Hopefully that gets improved in the next iteration of the product. But otherwise, very happy!

    • Meghan Jones

Valerie we are so very sorry about your spray bottle – that shouldn’t be happening. We will get a new one out to you pronto!

  • Kimberly

I’ve had this since Christmas, and I love it so far! I use it every day on my countertops, smudges on windows, high chairs, toys, tabletops, you name it. I’ve even used it for pretreating laundry and cleaning spots on our couch with great results. I’m impressed with how many uses it has, and I love that I can feel good about using it around my toddler and infant.

  • Sarah

Had this for 2 weeks and so far impressed and happy with it. I despise the smell of cleaning products, even the natural ones. This has the faintest hint of a chlorine type smell but it’s extremely mild and dissaptss in seconds. I’ve used it on just about every surface in my house, including marble, with no problem. I used to clean and very dusty bookshelf that had mold on it from being in storage. Worked really well. I have cleaning ladies come once a month and they used this in place of the Mr Clean they always use. Definitely a keeper

  • Andre

I’ve been very pleased with Force of Nature. I’ve even started recommending it to friends. I’ve used the solution in our steam mop to clean the tile floor and it worked wonderfully. Definitely a great solution to all the harsh cleaning agents available in stores. Thank you Force of Nature.

  • Caryn C

So far so good. I like it. Mostly I use it for sanitizing surfaces and getting rid of odors. My family is not convinced though. They keep asking, “how do I know it is actually killing germs? It looks like water.”
Not sure how to convince them.

    • Meghan Jones

Hi Caryn – We are glad you like it so far! On convincing your family, hypochlorous acid is a naturally clear substance, so we don’t add any fragrances or dyes to signal that it’s working like conventional cleaners do. Scents and dyes don’t enhance the efficacy and instead introduce unnecessary health risks. A couple of ways you can tell it’s working: 1) if it’s removing odors, for example in cat litter, diaper pails, trash, shoes or sports equipment, that means the hypochlorous acid is doing it’s job. Another way which might be too much of a hassle, though interesting to do, would be to buy chlorine strips to test the chlorine level of the solution. If the concentration tests between 50 and 200PPM, the solution is at its optimal efficacy level. This is how food inspectors often test whether or not restaurants are cleaning with powerful enough solutions. Hope this helps!

  • Briana Spuzzillo

I’m loving Force of Nature! I have a baby and toddler and it feels good using something that is safe and effective to clean. It works as well as my former high chair cleaner, counter cleaner, window cleaner, and order eliminator. I’m happy to get rid of all those other cleaners and have Force of Nature instead.
My only complaint is that the spray bottle is awkward and leaks, maybe we got a bad one, but it looks great!

  • Ginna

I have a teenage son who is sensitive to just about everything. Chemicals send him into an asthma flare so when I saw your product I got my hopes up. My hopes were not dashed. Almost no smell, cleans better than most products, and he has no problems with it. Even better I have only a couple cleaning products in my cabinet…nice to simplify and purge all the nasty chemicals that I couldn’t use anyway. Thank you from a mom who had given up finding something that worked great and didn’t cause health issues. My bathroom is sparkling clean along with rest of my house!

  • RCar

Got this for Christmas and was so excited to try it out. I have been really very pleased overall, though I will say it couldn’t quite rid my slippers of their odor, this product really does work to keep odors off of hard surfaces. Definitely recommend for daily cleaning!!

    • Meghan Jones

Hi- A tip for you – the very first time you use Force of Nature on an old, set in odor, we recommend that you completely soak the surface until it’s saturated, then let it dry. It needs to get to all the layers that have been soiled, so that’s why it’s important to completely saturate the item and then let it dry. That should take care of the odor.

  • Sean

Absolutely amazing! We love it! We actually have a cleaner now that we can use around our children. Easy to use, readily available on its stand, and the spray bottle is excellent.

  • Heidi

It’s been two months since I started using force of nature. I wanted to have ample time to test it before writing a review here. I’m very impressed and satisfied with the product. It cleans exceptionally well. For the longest time, I found it really hard to clean my stainless steel stove top. I had to use strong kitchen cleaner and scrubbing until my hands hurt. With force of nature, I could just wipe the stove clean! Amazing! Sure I still have to wipe and scrub for a little bit but definitely a huge improvement from before.

I also use it on mirrors and it works just as good as windex without the awful smell. I pretty much use it to do all my cleaning now. Sometimes I spray inside my trash can and the stinky smell will go away.

I took one star off because the spray bottle stopped working after one month. Sometimes it would work if I twisted and shake the bottle but most of time it just sat there and looked pretty. I bought the starter kit for the setup anyway so it wasn’t a major set back. I would prefer if there was an option to not get the bottle and get more refills. Please redesign the bottle for your future customers.

Force of nature scored my top 5 best buys in 2016. Will recommend to everyone.

  • Jennifer

I absolutely love this product! It reminds me of a product I used when my children were small. It has a slight bleach odor, but it is not offensive. It works well on many surfaces. I have used it on my granite counters, ceramic cooktop and glass. I am so happy I purchased this!
